The short version: Spooli works entirely on your device. Your photos never leave your phone, and we don't collect, store, or share your personal data.
Photo library access
Spooli asks for permission to access your photo library so it can show you memories from today's date in past years and let you keep or delete photos. This access is used entirely on your device, through Apple's Photos framework. Spooli does not upload, transmit, back up, or otherwise send your photos or any information about them to us or to any third party.
Deleting photos
When you delete a photo in Spooli, it's moved to your device's Recently Deleted album, the same as deleting from the Photos app — this is standard iOS behavior and gives you a 30-day window to recover anything by mistake. Spooli has no ability to permanently delete a photo outright, and no deletion happens without your confirmation.
Account & data collection
Spooli does not require an account, login, or sign-up. We do not collect:
- Your name, email, or any contact information
- Your photos or any data extracted from them
- Location data
- Analytics, usage tracking, or advertising identifiers
Information such as your streak count, review progress, and lifetime stats is stored only in your device's local storage and is never transmitted anywhere.
Subscriptions
Spooli Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Spooli does not see or store your payment information — that's handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. Spooli only checks whether your Apple ID holds an active entitlement in order to unlock Pro features on your device.
Sharing
If you choose to share a photo or your progress from within Spooli, that share goes through iOS's native share sheet (e.g. Messages or Mail) — the same system-level sharing used throughout iOS. Spooli itself does not operate any servers that receive or store shared content.
Children's privacy
Spooli is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, since it collects no personal information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Spooli after a change means you accept the updated policy.
